Explore the World

Thu. Mar. 28 | 2 – 3 p.m. | CoLab (OCB 107)

Travel the world without leaving campus as faculty speak on their exciting research to New Zealand. Discover the study Māori rhetoric and traditions, then jet set to Australia! Look into iconic species, the Great Barrier Reef, and the importance this World Heritage Site serves in Australian culture and conservation.

Biodiversity Scavenger Hunt

Compete with 赌钱app可以微信提现 student, faculty, and staff to see who can spot and identify the most wildlife on campus, in local parks, neighborhoods, and backyards. Discover what plants and animals share our diverse environment. Prizes will be awarded during the Student Environmental Alliance meeting May 6.

Eco Exchange Bins

Spring cleaning? Donate much-needed items listed below to nonprofits in the provided drop-off boxes. The Center for Sustainability will get them to those who need them most.

  • Blue Jeans Go Green: Worn-out denim blue jeans will be repurposed into insulation.
  • Thrift and Thrive: Help students outfit their first apartment with small housewares, kitchen items, and decor. You can also donate clothing, school or craft supplies, and other small items to be sent to local non-profits.
  • Personal Shredding: It's tax time! Load your personal papers into a secure bin provided by the 赌钱app可以微信提现 warehouse to be shredded and recycled by ProShred.

Hot Times in the Heartland

This gripping documentary features interviews with local advocates covering the impact and response to climate change in Kansas City region and throughout the Kaw Valley watershed. Light snacks and drinks are provided.

Repair Fair

Join 赌钱app可以微信提现’s Automotive Technology Department for a hands-on car care demonstration! Each quick tutorials gives you the opportunity to learn from professionals, ask questions, and gain confidence in basic car maintenance.

Heather Anacker, visible mending and sewing instructor from The Sewing Labs of KC, will be on campus to patch holes, replace buttons, and fix busted seams. Ready to DIY? Heather can teach you how to fix your own clothing with different techniques.

Items must be clean. The seamstress has the right to refuse any items. Not responsible for damage.


Campus Cleanup with the Student Environmental Alliance (SEA)

Help clean up some of our natural areas around campus as a group! Gloves and bags provided.


Un-Can-It for the Planet

Wed. Apr. 24 | 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. | COM Plaza

Lend a hand and compost the expired canned food from the Student Basic Needs Center (BNC) with the Center for Sustainability.

Clean out your own pantry and get your expired or stale food composted too (expired jars, cans, bags/boxes of food, etc)! Please, no refrigerated or frozen items unless you bring them directly to the event on April 24 at 11 a.m.

We ask that in exchange for composting your expired food, you drop it off with a donation of edible food or personal hygiene item for the Student Basic Needs Center. You can drop your expired food and donations at the BNC in GEB 153, or the Center for Sustainability in CSB 165, or bring them to the event.


Garden Party – Plant Starts and Produce Sale

Stop by the Open Petal Farm table and get some plant starts for your spring garden, or something tasty for this week’s dinners with fresh produce from the campus farm.
